Tuesday’s twin blasts might have been the result of inadequate admission norms of dharmshalas and guest houses due to which a stranger could easily stay at these places without furnishing proper information. According to a survey conducted by Hindustan Times at some inns and guests houses near Varanasi Cantonment Railway Station, most of the passengers stay without furnishing proper information, thereby indicating that anti-national or anti-social elements could easily sneak in.
Official register of Sri Krishna Dharmashala, near railway station, revealed that several outsiders stayed there without furnishing proper information such as name, purpose etc. during the last couple of days.
Lallan Prasad Yadav of Sri Krishna Dharmashala claimed that the inn officials allowed only families but the register showed that several youngsters without families stayed in the same dharmashala.
For instance a 21-year-old youth got himself registered as Harish, son of Suresh and a resident of E-1236 at Jahangirpur (New Delhi) on 6th March. This 21-year old youth stayed in the Sri Krishna Dharmashala alone.
Similar was the situation at the Buddhist Burmese Dharmashala, near Varanasi Roadways office, where outsiders were allowed entry by furnishing some formalities. BD Upadhyay of Palki guest house claimed that no suspicious person was allowed entry but he could not explain the norms of admission.
