"It will be an ideal one-day track. It will be full of runs. But the bowlers will also get some assistance," Mukherjee, also a member of the BCCI's Ground and Wickets Committee, told newspersons.

Mukherjee said the pitch would be hard and not bereft of grass. "The wicket will not be slow, and the ball will come to the bat".

On the dew factor, which has always been a vital factor in deciding day-night encounters at the venue, Mukherjee said "We will use the super sopper to dry the ground during the evening break".

"Though the teams batting second in day-night matches here have had difficulty in negotiating the track in the past, it won't be proper to prophesy that the same is going to recur," he added.
