Elaborate security for Chehellum
THE DISTRICT administration has ensured elaborate security arrangements in the district on the occasion of Chehellum ( celebration of the 40th day of Moharram) on Monday in view of the recent bomb blasts in Varanasi. The entire district has been divided into 16 sectors and sector magistrates have been deployed in every sector to monitor the security arrangements.
THE DISTRICT administration has ensured elaborate security arrangements in the district on the occasion of Chehellum ( celebration of the 40th day of Moharram) on Monday in view of the recent bomb blasts in Varanasi.
The entire district has been divided into 16 sectors and sector magistrates have been deployed in every sector to monitor the security arrangements.
District Magistrate Nitin Ramesh Gokaran has directed the sector magistrates to discharge their duties effectively and to ensure their presence in their respective areas on the occasion, otherwise action would be taken against them for laxity in duty.
Chief Development Officer Ram Vishal Mishra has been assigned the responsibility for the security in city area whereas ADM Basant Ram Prajapati has been assigned the task to maintain law and order in the district on the occasion.
These officer will continuously patrol the district and city areas to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion of Chehellum.
Besides, heavy police force will also be deployed at sensitive and Muslim-dominated areas as a precautionary measure.
ADM RP Singh has been appointed separately to monitor the law and order situation in the Muslim-dominated areas in Sonarpura and Madanpura. Similarly, several officers have also been assigned their duties in city and rural areas of the district to monitor law and order on March 20.
The district magistrate directed all the SDMs to deploy Nayab Tehsildars in their respective areas as per requirement. He also directed the department concerned to ensure adequate supply of power and water on the occasion of Chahellum.
The district administration has also imposed traffic restriction on some routes in the city on the occasion of Chehellum.
The traffic curbs would be effective on Monday from 3 pm to 1 am. No vehicular traffic will be allowed on Gaudaulia-Sonarpura route and Lanka-Assi route during this period.
