With names like David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, John Terry and Michael Owen in the team, England team is all set to sizzle at the World Cup this year.
The main attraction of the team will be Wayne Rooney's power packed goal-getting faculty. Though quite young, Rooney is all set to prove his mettle at the World Cup in Germany.
Despite competent players, England has not been able to bag the World Cup since 1966. But, the team remains to be the second favourite after Brazil for the 2006 Cup.
The ace footballers of the squad are definitely worth more than their achievements to date. The group is expected to reach the quarter-finals at the least.
The squad faced a tough phase after a 1-0 defeat against Northern Ireland under Sven Goran Eriksson. But, it has bounced back with the last couple of matches to mark its prominence amongst the international contenders.
