Rajnish Gupta ‘Bobby is the corporator of this ward. This time he has fielded his wife Archita Gupta as the ward has been declared reserved for women.
Shatrudra, resident of Yahiyaganj, says, “Yahiyaganj consists of narrow lanes , where even cycles move with a lot of difficulties. Here we have problem of streetlights and open manholes. People here face great difficulty in moving around during the nights.”

Anup: “Encroachments in Yahiyaganj are on a new high. The corporator has done nothing to remove them. Perhaps he goes too soft on the traders.”
Shiv Kumar Gupta: “The icecream factory in a narrow lane has blocked almost all of the lane. The corporator has been apprised of the fact many times, but he has turned a blind eye to it as the factory owner happens to be a strongman. Due to the factory, the lane remains filthy and drains blocked.”

Krishna Kumar: “We get water only for two hours per day. Besides having poor lanes, we don’t have a proper kharanja in the lane.”

Sanjay Lodh: “Here roads are in a poor condition, most of the roads on Yahiyaganj market are encroached, you just can’t think of driving a car on these roads during the day time.”

Replying to the charges, ‘Bobby’ says , “ I have performed a record number of development works in the ward, spending nearly Rs 1 crore. My major works include laying of sewer lines in Kundari. This time I have fielded my wife in the election and she will win only due the development work done by me in the area.”

On the poor sanitary conditions and encroachments, he says, “ I have always asked the LMC officials to carry out a drive in the area but they have always deferred it due to non availability of staff. On the water front, I have installed 20 hand pumps and two tubewells, I have developed four parks and freed them from the encroachers. ” Residents give this ward six out of ten.
