Ex-HC judge re-appointed as consumer commission head
The Haryana government, after consulting the chief justice of Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday, appointed justice Ripudaman Singh Madan, former high court judge, as president of the Haryana Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for the second term till November 20, 2013 up to attaining the age of 67 years.

It was said to be for the first time that a commission president was re-appointed.
Justice Madan, who completed his five-year tenure as president of the commission on May 31, 2013, was known for achievement in bringing down the pendency of the cases to about 100 cases in January this year from over 12,000 cases in May 2008, when he joined the first time.
The disposal percentage was the lowest in the country at 57% at that time, but was turned around to be the highest now at 99.71%.
