?Fake? teachers acting as room supervisors
THE TALL claims of Education Department and district administration to conduct fair examinations of Uttar Pradesh Higher Secondary Board seem meaningless in Varanasi.
THE TALL claims of Education Department and district administration to conduct fair examinations of Uttar Pradesh Higher Secondary Board seem meaningless in Varanasi.

As the internal flying squads of almost all the examination centres are reluctant to check copying, there are reports that some ‘fake’ teachers were acting as room supervisors at some examination centres.
These fake teachers are acting as room supervisors without any fear in outskirts of the district as very often even the flying squads do not ask them about their actual identity.
Since there is provision of 90 per cent room supervisors belonging to other schools at examination centres, it is a bit difficult for flying squads to ask each room supervisors about the actual posting of the concerned room supervisors and subsequently verify the same.
“Even if a fake room supervisor is asked about the actual posting, he escapes the net on the name of non-funded school. It may be noted that there happens to be no record of teachers of non-funded school at District Inspector of School office.
As a result of this it is very difficult for flying squads to identify the actual and fake room supervisors. Report said that even the identity cards of room supervisors were not being checked which is also another factor responsible for this problem.
District Inspector of School, Onkar Shukla, did not deny the possibility that some fake teachers were acting as room supervisors here in Varanasi. Shukla further claimed that there was no report of any such fake room supervisors and investigation would be set up if such incidences were reported from any examination centres.
It may be noted that the board examination are being conducted at 157 centres in Varanasi district out of which 10 centres have been declared hyper-sensitive in view of copying.
As many as 52,910 students were registered for High School examination whereas a total of 42,601 students were registered for Intermediate examination in Varanasi district this year. A total of five flying squads have been constituted to ensure that the students do not use unfair means during the examination.
