Family claims child swapped at hospital
Relatives of a woman who gave birth to a child at Surbhi Hospital in Sector 35 have alleged that their male child has been swapped with a female child.
Relatives of a woman who gave birth to a child at Surbhi Hospital in Sector 35 have alleged that their male child has been swapped with a female child.
The hospital, however, denied the allegations and has agreed for a DNA test at the hospital's expense.
Kishore Singh, whose wife Maya (28) was admitted in the hospital, said: “Soon after the baby’s delivery on Sunday, child specialist Subhash Gupta and a nurse told us that a male child was born. A few hours later, another nurse told us that it was female child.”
“We went to the clinic in Sector 12 on Saturday night from where doctor Priti Chauhan sent us to Surbhi Hospital in Sector 35. There my wife gave birth to our baby boy at about 5.44 am,” he said.
“Two women delivered babies on Saturday night between 10 pm and 11 pm. Both are male child. In the morning, between 4 am to 6 am, Maya and another woman gave birth. Both are baby girls,” Dr Sadanand Shukla of Surbhi Hospital told Hindustan Times.
“To satisfy them, we decided to get a DNA test done at the hospital's expense. The parents can get the DNA test done from any laboratory of their choice,” said Shukla.
