Another colour white will be the favourite of the masses, said Dr Shristi Purwar, Centre head, Institute of Fashion Designing and Technology, Allahabad University.
"Quite smart dresses are likely to occupy the space in the wardrobes this season. Jackets will be flaunted with the skirts and trousers of contrast colour combination. Open front, zipper and slanting side lower pocket will be the features found in jackets", she added.
Mermaid long skirts with numerous gathers and floral print will become the trend this season.
"Garments stitched in fabric of flowy material, cotton and faux leather will top the trend chart. Light textured cotton fabric will be more suitable to brave the scorching summers", she added.
Those who dress up in traditional outfits such as salwar suits will have several shades to choose from such as pastel shades, white, light green, light orange and light peach. Of course the embroidery and sequins work will again be done in abundance on this traditional outfit. Discussion about Indian outfits is always incomplete without mentioning the traditional sari. "Heavy sequins work on saris will be the talk of the season and it will be teamed up with sleeveless blouses.
Instead of laying more emphasis on the hanging pallu, more embroidery work will be done on the pleats and the front portion just below the shoulders", added Dr Purwar.
Men will flaunt the shirts in big checks available in pastel shades and light blue, peach, bottle green and in multiple shades of grey such as greyish blue and greyish green.
