Five killed in road accident in Hyderabad

Five folk artists including two women were killed and five others sustained injuries when an auto they were traveling in collided with a state-run RTC bus in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.

Five folk artists including two women were killed and five others sustained injuries when an auto they were traveling in collided with a state-run RTC bus in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

The accident took place at Hyderabad-Srisailam highway under Uppunutala police station limits on Saturday when a group of folk artists were on their way to Dindi village in Nalgonda district to participate in a cultural programme, Uppunuthala police told PTI on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Gurumurthy (30), Krishnavarma (28), Parusuram (24), Nagamani (18) and Jyothi (19, they said.

The injured were shifted to Osmania government hospital in Hyderabad.

All the victims belong to Mahabubnagar district, they said.

Meanwhile, singer Gaddar on Sunday demanded that state government should provide an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family members of deceased.
