The overall flood situation in Assam remained unchanged on Friday with more than three lakh people across six districts of the state getting affected.

The situation remained critical in the worst-hit Dhemaji and Hailakandi districts with river Jiadhol and Katakhal breaching several embankments and inundating several villages, official sources said here.
In fresh flood, four villages in Darrang district have been inundated by the Brahmaputra which was flowing above danger level, affecting about 1000 people.
The flood scene in Nalbari district was grave, with the Brahmaputra's level rising and Kaithalkuchi-Barama-Subankhata road being still under water.
Road communication on the vital Nalbari-Hajo-Guwahati was disrupted while relief material was being distributed among the affected people.
More than 400 villages have been affected in the first wave of flood hitting the state this year.
