A fire in a slum colony here killed four people, including a three-year-old girl, and destroyed 12 shanties on Friday, fire officials said.
The fire at Murapara Bihari Colony in the city's Mirpur area under Pallabi thana started after an electric short circuit in one of the shanties early on Friday morning.
Firemen have recovered four charred bodies belonging to the same family, including a three-year-old girl and her mother, from the debris.
