Four Kuki militants killed in Manipur

Security personnel acting on a tip off surrounded the hilly Genlnel area, about 40 kms north of Imphal, and launched a massive search operation.

As the securitymen intensified the operation, suspected militants fire, the sources said adding that in the ensuing exchange of fire four KNF(P) militants were killed.

An army officer who sustained minor injuries in the incident was treated at army hospital at Leimakhong, the sources said.

One LMG, one M-16 rifle and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the spot.

Bodies of the militants were handed over to district hospital for post mortem.
