About 10 DNS and Ringer Lactate bottles were reportedly issued by the SRN Hospital’s central medicine store for administering it to the patients. But before it could be administered, a hospital staff suddenly spotted some foreign matter in the bottles. It was found about five bottles had fungus.
The staff complained about it to Dr NBL Srivastava, superintendent-in-charge of the SRN Hospital on Monday and demanded him to stop the supply of IV fluid.
Following the complaint, Dr Srivastava has asked the pharmacist and store in-charge to check all the IV fluid stock.
A paramedical staff, said, “Such things are very frequently occurring in the hospital. There could be many more such bottles in the hospital. There are also possibilities that many of them were administered to the patients.”
