Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Saturday, Fennell said: "On the issue of venue construction, I have to express great disappointment at the Co-Con (Coordination Commission) report at the delayed delivery of some of the venues and in particular the Nehru Stadium and the swimming complex that are far behind. We have continuously received assurances on the delivery timeline of these projects and to know here that there are further delays is distressing."

On the issue of security, Fennell said: " I have viewed security matter and we are satisfied that all that could be asked is being done for the security and we have assured our members and through them their athletes that the best security arrangements possible will be put in place."

The Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi will be India''s first major international sports event after the 1982 Asian Games.
