Describing Bush as ‘war-loving jingoist’, they also burnt the effigies of Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Warren Anderson. Warren Anderson, the then chairman of Union Carbide, is wanted in India and the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, which is hearing the Union Carbide criminal case, has declared him an absconder after he failed to turn up in the court for hearing.
The BGPMUS convener Abdul Jabbar said that the Government of India lacks the courage to demand Anderson’s extradition for trial in court in connection with Bhopal disaster, which has claimed thousands of lives so far.
Now that Bush is visiting India, gas victims wish to remind the Government of India her obligation towards gas victims so that the Prime Minister raises demand for Anderson’s extradition in his talks with US President, he said.
