Geelani unwell, rushed to Gurgaon for treatment

Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was on Thursday brought to the national capital from the Kashmir Valley after he complained of chest pain.

Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was on Thursday brought to the national capital from the Kashmir Valley after he complained of chest pain.

Geelani, 84, arrived here on Thursday afternoon and was taken to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon, a part of national capital region, where he was attended by doctors from the pulmonary department.

After check up, doctors decided not to admit himin the hospital. Geelani underwent various tests and x-ray after which he was discharged.

Geelani suffers from multiple health ailments, including heart problem for which a pacemaker has been planted, and a serious kidney problem.

When contacted his son-in-law Altaf said that Geelani had been discharged after some tests and the doctors prescribed some additional medicines.

"He is better now," he added.
