George Clooney's low-key New Year affair

The actor had a rather low-key New Year which comprised watching TV and listening to Pink Floyd.

Oscar winning actor George Clooney had a low key New Year watching TV and listening to Pink Floyd.

People.com quoted him as saying: "I watched The Wizard of Oz - a big tradition at my house." And he had Pink Floyd's album Dark Side of the Moon playing in the background. Clooney had a low key Christmas too. He spent it at a beach resort of Cabo San Lucas.

He added: "I didn't do anything, nobody put on Christmas songs and we didn't celebrate at all." But the atmosphere, he insisted, "wasn't bah-humbug at all and we had a nice time down there."

Speaking about gifts he said: "We put up a website for all our buddies, and just said, 'Everybody has all you want,' and said 'What's your favorite charity? We'll give to that'."

But he did make a New Year's resolution and said: "I quit smoking. It was that or give up drinking, and I'm not going to do that."
