The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued the order on Saturday after the civil aviation ministry had last week allowed airlines to charge separately for certain services, hoping to bring down the basic airfares.

The aviation regulator has asked airlines to submit a transparent plan of its unbundled services with a price chart and the manner in which it will be communicated to passengers. The price card for the services should be fixed irrespective of the flight route and announced at least 30 days before they are introduced.

“Customers should have clear information of these services, so that they can pick the ones suitable to them,” said a senior DGCA official.
