Women cops beat up an 18-year-old girl, working as domestic help in a wealthy house, mercilessly for several hours before the girl virtually lost her hands and a leg.

Pooja, the young, vivacious girl was working at the house of Arvind Saran in Model House in Khandhari Bazara area in Lucknow.

A theft in the household was the reason for such crude behaviour by cops. The incident occurred in December but a report was filed against Pooja recently. Yesterday, the police brought Pooja to the police station where she was stripped and beaten as she shrieked in pain. When she pleaded ignorance and said that she was being framed, the police remained quiet for some time but in vain. After some time, the girl became unconscious.

The cops got scared when the girl did not open her eyes. Fearing that she might die, they picked up her body and dumped it outside her house.

Om Prakash, father of Pooja, has alleged that the girl was severely beaten up by the police on false charges of theft. "How can women be so cruel?" wonders her dad.
