Hafed hikes margin on sale of fertilizers

The Haryana Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED) has effected a substantial increase in the distribution margin of primary agricultural cooperative societies (PACS) and cooperative marketing societies (CMS) on sale of fertilizers. The federation will provide credit facility to them. Under the fertilizer supply policy, 2013, employees of the PACS and CMS would be incentivised for their target-based performance.

A Hafed spokesperson said the policy has been revised to strengthen the cooperative institutions engaged in the supply of fertilizers to the farmers in the rural areas. It has been done keeping in view the demand of PACS and CMS to increase distribution margin on the sale of fertilizers.

Hafed is the only state nodal agency for arrangements and distribution of fertilizers through the cooperative network in the state.
