Realising that the left wing extremists were devoid of any ideology and targetting innocent people, Naresh decided to return to the social mainstream, the SP said. The rebel was allegedly involved in the killing of two village guards at Katamma in Gajapati district about three months ago, he said, adding the ultra was active in Gajapati, Rayagada and Kandhamal districts.

He was also involved in several other incidents including the blasting of a police outpost at Chandrapur in Rayagada district and a forest beat house in Adaba in Gajapati district in December last year, Arora said.
