The Special Court postponed hearing in the case in view of the interim orders of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court staying further proceedings till January 8, 2004 on the revision petitions of the seven accused, including BJP leaders Uma Bharti and Vinay Katiyar , VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, Giri Raj Kishore and Sadhvi Rithambara besides Joshi.
The counsel for the accused moved an application for exemption from personal appearance and the court granted it only for on Saturday.
The eighth accused in the case, Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, was discharged by the court in September last following which the revision petitions were filed by the remaining accused.
