Smugglers -- Yashpal Sharma and Arjun Singh -- were moving in suspicious circumstances near the border fencing area on Indo-Pak border in Hamirpur village in Kour, 60 kms from Jammu, police officials said.

Army troops later launched search operation and recovered a bag containing 16 packets of narcotics including 15 packets of heroin and one of opium and arrested the duo, they said.

Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) officials said the market price of heroin is approximately Rs 5 crore per kg in the international market.

Sharma was a known cross-border smuggler and both of them were handed over to police.
