1 Consultation:

Unlike regular online shopping, buying fine jewellery from a website can be tricky. It’s better to buy jewellery from a portal that offers consultation from a jewellery expert.

2 Exotic factor:

Look for rare and exotic designs and jewellery, which is not easily available in your city.

3 Authenticity:

Make sure the portal offers a certificate of authenticity along with the jewellery. The gems and stones used should ideally be GIA/IGI certified and the gold used should be hallmarked. Otherwise, call up their call centre and confirm.

4 Choose the right portal:

Gather sufficient information about the promoters of the portal and also inquire about their distribution network, shipping services and a foolproof return policy.

5 Beware of fake images:

Sometimes jewellery images are photoshopped for an added glitter look on gold and diamonds. Look at the image carefully before choosing the jewellery and ask the website to provide you full details of the quality of gold, colour and clarity of the stones etc.
