Due to heavy rains, a kutcha house collapsed in Bansa village of Rewa district killing three persons of same family. However, 12-year-old Jyoti was rescued by the villagers in the morning.

Seventy-year-old Bhagwan Das Soni and his wife Sanghai, 65, along with their two grandchildren, got trapped in the debris of their house, which collapsed.

As the rainfall continued entire night, the villagers were not aware of the collapsed house. When the rainfall stopped in the morning, the neighbours came to know about the incident and rescued the girl.

The girl is undergoing treatment at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. District administration has announced compensation of `4.5 lakh for the family.

Meanwhile, life were thrown out of gear at Rewa, Satna, Sidhi and many other district of eastern MP on Tuesday as many trees were uprooted and walls collapsed due to high velocity winds and heavy rainfall.

Rewa recorded 11 mm, Sidhi 19 mm, while Satna recorded 10 mm rainfall. Amarkantak recorded highest 28 mm rainfall in the state.
