The husband of the 28-year-old gangrape victim heard the screams of his wife as she went through the ordeal on Monday morning. He had called her to know her whereabouts.
The husband of the 28-year-old gangrape victim heard the screams of his wife as she went through the ordeal on Monday morning. He had called her to know her whereabouts.
He usually picked her up after work but on Sunday night he had asked her to call a cab as he had gone to a party.
The husband said he had talked to his wife around 11:45pm, asking her to call him once her work was over.
Generally, she used to call him on the way. But when she didn’t, he got worried and called her. Someone picked up the phone and he did hear his wife. But nothing could be heard clearly as he himself was in a party.
The husband told HT that he tried to call his wife a couple of times later and each time he could hear her pleading with her tormentors to leave her. He said he rushed home and kept on calling her to know her whereabouts but got no information.
The mobile was on throughout and the accused did not switch off the phone, he said.
