Hyderabad batters keep Mumbai at bay

All Hyderabadi batsmen occupied the crease and frustrated Mumbai, who were waiting for things to happen for them, reports G Krishnan.

Hyderabad, led by the experienced D Vinay Kumar, batted Mumbai out of the match here on Monday. At stumps on the second day, Hyderabad were comfortably placed at 253 for five with Vinay unbeaten on (64) and wicketkeeper Ibrahim Khaleel batting on 41. The duo have already put-on 79 for the sixth wicket, giving Hyderabad a 138-run lead.

Mumbai were completely battered at the end of the day. Right from the overnight duo of Ravi Teja and Sashank Nag and continuing to the sixth-wicket pair, everyone occupied the crease and frustrated Mumbai, who were waiting for things to happen for them, rather than making them happen.

Brief scores: Mumbai 1st innings 115 (A Muzumdar 26; MP Arjun 4/21, A Absolem 3/38). Hyderabad 1st innings 253 for 5 (DV Kumar batting 64, R Teja batting 45; SP Hazare 2/52, R Powar 2/65).
