"I was waiting for this opportunity and when I got it, I grabbed it. I am now looking forward to keep the momentum going in the series," the Jharkhand-based stumper said.
Dhoni said he was mentally prepared to bat at number three as the team management had telling him for some time that he might have to go in at that position. "I was ready and focused for this. And this preparation has helped".
Dhoni, who struck his maiden hundred in only his fifth one-dayer, said he was confident that he would perform well if asked to come at the top of the order. "So, this hundred has not come as a surprise".
The rookie, who was involved in a 149-run stand for the fourth wicket with Rahul Dravid, acknowledged that the Indian vice captain's guidance in the middle had helped him a lot.
Dhoni said that it was difficult to keep wickets after playing such a long innings.
