Indian History Congress session in March

The IHC is the biggest organisation of professional historians in South Asia, has about 8,000 active members both from India and abroad.

The Indian History Congress (IHC) will hold its 67th session in Kozhikode during the second week of March.

The session will be presided over by Professor JV Naik. Irfan Habib and Sabyasachi Bhattacharya will be the Vice-Presidents.

The IHC, which is the biggest organisation of professional historians in South Asia, has about 8,000 active members both from India and abroad.

All periods of Indian history, including archaeology, as well as countries other than India are covered in the deliberations of the sessions.

On an average 600-700 research papers are presented at the session by the scholars both from India and abroad on different thematic sections.

The Congress also organises symposia and panel discussions on topics of historical research. This year there will be a symposium on 'Archaeology of India'.
