Indian worker commits suicide in Dubai

The 31-year-old welding technician from Kerala was found hanging from a rope from the ceiling of the company's garage on Saturday.

An Indian national allegedly committed suicide at his workplace in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

The 31-year-old welding technician from Kerala was found hanging from a rope from the ceiling of the company's garage on Saturday located in Al Nakheel area, the Khaleej Times reported without identifying the victim.

"He had married a few months before coming to the UAE and has no children," said a colleague who added that the technician had joined the company two years ago.

The man had not complained of any difficulties before the incident, colleagues said.

An intensive probe has been initiated to find out the cause for the alleged suicide, the paper quoted police officials.

Rescuers have brought the body to the Police Department morgue.
