Injured Warne out of Mumbai Test

Australia leg-pinner was ruled out of the Mumbai Test after being struck by a ball during the practice session on Tuesday.

Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne was ruled out of the final Test against India starting on Wednesday after he suffered an injury during a training session.

"Warne injured his bowling hand during 'nets' and will not be able to play in tomorrow's match," Australian media manager Jonathan Rose said.

"He was taken to a hospital this evening for tests and doctors felt he could need between six and eight weeks to recover fully."

, the world record holder with 541 Test wickets, was expected to play an important role in the match starting on Wednesday with the pitch at the Wankhede Stadium expected to offer significant turn.

Off spinner Nathan Hauritz or leg break bowler Cameron White will make their debut if Warne is unavailable.

Australia have clinched the series 2-0 after winning the first Test in Bangalore and the third in Nagpur last week for their first series victory in India in 35 years.
