ISSICON-07 begins from February 22

A SPECIAL workshop under International Spine and Spinal Injuries conference (ISSICON-2007) will be organised for physiotherapists to at Arihant Hospital from February 22 to 25.

A SPECIAL workshop under International Spine and Spinal Injuries conference (ISSICON-2007) will be organised for physiotherapists to at Arihant Hospital from February 22 to 25.

This special workshop will be addressed by national and international spine specialists and faculties.

ISSICON-2007 organising secretary Dr D K Taneja said that at the workshop specialists would deliver lectures on treatment of patients of spine disorders and spine injuries and their rehabilitation.

Paraplegic patients need special physiotherapy, occupational therapy, care and treatment and in the workshop the senior specialists of the profession will train them accordingly, Dr Taneja added.

Besides this Yoga and hydrotherapy is a must for the patients of spine related disorders. During the workshop hydro therapy specialists will train the participants in the first and only hydro therapy centre of Madhya Pradesh, established at Arihant Hospital and special Yogic exercise will be taught by renowned orthopedic and Yoga specialist Dr R C Verma.

Dr Taneja said specialists who are scheduled to address the workshop include Dr Vinod Sahgal (chief of physical medicine and rehabilitation, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA), Dr John Steves (professor and director of international collaboration on repair discoveries, ICORD, University of British Columbia and Vancouver, Canada), Dr B D Athani (Director, All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Haji Ali, Mumbai) and Dr D K Taneja (Medical director of Arihant Hospital and specialist hydro therapist).
