J&K govt approves 1000 additional Anganwadi centres

Jammu and Kashmir government has approved setting up of 1,000 additional Anganwadi centres in the state, officials said here on Monday. The cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister Omar Abdullah last evening.

Jammu and Kashmir government has approved setting up of 1,000 additional Anganwadi centres in the state, officials said here on Monday.

The cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister Omar Abdullah last evening, approved setting up of 1000 additional Aganwadi Centres under the scheme "Aganwadi-on-Demand on adhoc basis" in the state under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), an official spokesman said.

The cabinet also approved engagement of 1,000 honorary Aganwadi workers and 1,000 honorary Aganwadi helpers to run these centres, the spokesman added.
