A court on Thursday extended the judicial remand of one of the accused in the sex racket case till July 7.

Mehrajuddin Malik, one of the 12 people arrested in connection with the case, was sent to the Central Jail till July 7 by Chief Judicial Magistrate MY Akhoon.
Meanwhile, the family of BSF Deputy Inspector General KS Padhi, arrested for allegedly raping a teenaged victim of the racket, moved an application before the court seeking permission to meet the officer at the Central Jail.
Akhoon directed Padhi's family to contact the superintendent of the jail as the accused is in judicial custody and jail manual rules would have to be followed in this matter.
