The chief minister also discused with Hooda several issues related to army support to civil administration in a time-bound manner in rebuilding infrastructure, damaged due to floods, particularly bridges.

It was the first meeting of the CM with the senior-most army general stationed in the state after he had given a statement on March 1, praising Pakistan and separatists for allowing peaceful conduct of the elections. The common minimum programme of the BJP-PDP alliance states that the government would examine the need for de-notifying the 'disturbed areas'.

The press statement said Lt Gen Hooda assured all support for smooth movement of traffic on the national highway, which has been severely affected due to difficult weather conditions.
