An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Doda district of J&K.

An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, official sources said.

Gurvinder Singh, of 11 Rashtriya Rifles, shot himself with his service rifle during guard duty in an Army camp in Kishtwar area, the sources said.

The jawan had placed the rifle under his chin and fired, which killed him instantly, they said.

Col Goswami, an Army spokesman, said a court of inquiry was ordered into the incident.
