Party spokesman P G R Sindhia alleged at a press conference here that during the first phase of 'Vijay Dhundubi' yatra by Chief Minister S M Krishna, the Government held out promises to Anganwadi workers, Stree Shakti groups and memebrs of Rajiv Gandhi Yuvaka Sangha to "lure" them.

He charged that the Congress was supplying LPG cylinders to Stree Shakti Groups and added the party would bring it to the notice of the Election Commission.

Sindhia said the JDS's main poll plank during the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls was the failure of the state Government in tackling drought situation.

He said the party Parliamentary Board headed by M P Prakash would meet here tomorrow to select candidates and also decide on seat sharing pact with Left parties and Dalit Sangarsha Samithi.

Sindhia also alleged that the Congress was trying to distribute crores of worth liquor seized by excise department during the election after purchasing it at a nominal cost and demanded that the stocks be auctioned in public.

Commenting on the BJP candidates list, he claimed that the party had not selected "strong" candidates who would give a fight in the elections and this indicated that it would be pushed to third place in the coming polls.

Meanwhile, JDS has appointed Thomas John son of former minister T John and Congress leader its State unit General Secretary.
