This is one of the biggest reward amount announced so far in the state’s history for providing information about the extremists, most of whom are involved in various killings that happened in the state in last decade.
A reward of Rs 25 lakh has been announced on the head on the Central committee secretary and members of the special area committee and regional bureau of the extremist group, an official in the chief minister’s office told HT.
Jharkhand is one of the worst LWE affected state, where 22 deaths have already been reported in 91 naxal attacks reported in the state by mid April this year. As many as 103 people lost their lives in the tribal state in 384 incidents last year.
Jharkhand is among the 10 states that are badly affected by the Naxal problem. LWE had claimed 222 lives, including 34 security personal involved in combat activities, across the country.
