Charging the BJP-led NDA in Jharkhand with applying "illegal" methods to remain in power, Chief Minister Shibu Soren's JMM on Tuesday said it would launch a state-wide agitation from Wednesday to "expose" how the saffron party "hijacked the democratic norms."

"The BJP-led NDA looted the state exchequer during the last four years. Now they are applying all illegal methods to remain in power so that corruption committed by them should not be uncovered. We will tell the people about their deeds," JMM General Secretary Sunil Mahto said.

"We are going to hold rallies and demonstrations from village to district level in the state from Wednesday to expose BJP and how its leadership has hijacked the democratic norms," he said, adding "the tribal population will be told how BJP government in its last stint befooled them on the pretext of development".

Mahto also criticised former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani for his comments against Governor Sayed Sibte Razi, saying it threatened to disturb communal harmony in the state.

The JMM MP claimed it was because of the "unmindful" comments of Advani, BJP workers demonstrated in an uncivilised manner by throwing tomatoes and eggs when Razi arrived from Delhi after meeting President APJ Abdul Kalam.

He alleged that former Chief Minister Arjun Munda has become so desperate to remain in power that he indulged in "hooliganism" and kidnapped five independent MLAs, some of whom had pledged to support the UPA combine.

"If the show of strength has to be decided in assembly why he has illegally taken the independent MLAs to Delhi and Rajasthan. This reflected his desperation that he is bent upon applying all methods to remain in power," he alleged.
