He patiently listened to grievances of the staff and assured to look into the issue raised by them but did not give them any specific assurance on their demand for pay hike and improving service conditions of the hospital.

Later, in the evening he met Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangthan (BGPMUS) convener Abdul Jabbar as well. Jabbar along with other activists of his group held a demonstration at the hospital in the afternoon to protest against malfunctioning of State-of-the-art hospital constructed for the gas victims.

Jabbar, while expressing dismay over closure of emergency services in some of the important departments of the hospital including nephrology, neurology and pulmonary medicine, urged him to improve working conditions at the hospital so that competent doctors could be retained at the hospital and consistent tug-of-war between the hospital management and the staff was done away with.

He further told Justice Ahmadi that about 25 doctors of the hospital had left the job following prolonged strike by the hospital staff in December last year.

He urged Justice Ahmadi to accept demands of the hospital staff at the earliest including their demand for better salary and service conditions, so that work in the hospital could be streamlined in right earnest.
