“It adds to the pain to feel the apathy one could face after he comes 4th in Olympics! 2 days gone, didnt hear from my employers or my state!” tweeted Joydeep Karmakar, who missed out on a bronze in 50m rifle prone by just 1.9 points, on Sunday. Karmakar works at South-Eastern Railway (SER) but surprisingly his employers are yet to send him even a congratulatory message.

“I’m yet to hear from the Railway officials or the state government,” said Karmakar’s father, Santo on Sunday. “I last spoke to Joy today morning. He sounded a bit down about all this. But I have told Joy not to lose heart and to concentrate on his future,” he said.
