A junior diver of Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB), Priyanka Banerjee, slipped into the drainage system on the periphery of the pool and cut her ankle while walking towards the 1 metre diving area.

The Day One proved to be rather fruitful for Karnataka as they clinched gold in 400 m Freestyle men, 200 m individual medley women, 200 m backstroke men, 200 m butterfly women, and 400 m medley relay women.

Also, India's renowned swimmers Veer Dhaval Khade won in 50m freestyle while Sandeep Sejwal won in 200 metres Breast Stroke. " I am happy with my performance," said Sejwal. " I clocked good timing."

In women's 1 metre diving event, Hrutika Shriram of RSPB won silver while Karishma Mohite of Karnataka clinched gold.
