India's F-1 rookie Narain Karthikeyan was slapped a fine of $6,750 on Friday soon after his first drive at the Australian Grand Prix.

Karthikeyan was fined by stewards for exceeding the pit lane speed limit in his Jordan car during opening practice ahead of Sunday's season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
Stewards found that Karthikeyan was travelling at a speed of 86.2 km/h and was found to be in breach of F1 regulations.
