Krishnamurthy, who has sung in more than 250 movies since 1980, says present-day film songs don't have the resonance they used to.

"I do sing for films but it is not so regular," she told reporters during a visit to Lucknow. "I do not relish singing film songs any more." Her second pop album Dil Ki Awaaz, is due to be released soon.

Krishnamurthy's more recent work includes movies as Mangal Pandey: The Rising and Kuch Na Kaho.

"Modern-day music directors should ponder why their songs do not have the same recall value as compared to those of the greats," she said.
