Kubica takes race in Canada
Robert Kubica won the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday for his first Formula One victory, after pole-sitter Lewis Hamilton crashed out.
Nick Heidfeld was second to secure a 1-2 finish for BMW Sauber, while Red Bull driver David Coulthard was third. Kubica also surpassed Hamilton to take the lead in the overall drivers' standings.
Hamilton, who got his first F1 victory here last year, slammed his McLaren into the rear of world champion Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari in the pits early in the race, taking out both leaders and giving the 23-year-old Kubica a clear road to victory in his 29th F1 start.
