State Congress sources said out of the 2826 eligible voters, 2650 participated and exercised their mandate in what was described as 'historic' election for the state youth Congress committee on Tuesday following directive of AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.

Lallan Kumar, who secured a maximum number of 748 votes, was elected to head the youth body.

Similarly, Kumar Ashish with 343 votes was declared elected as the Vice President, along with seven general secretaries, sources said on Wednesday.

The General Secretaries include Dr Rashid Fakri, Airek Kumar, Dr Shashi Shankar Singh (all on general category) and Md Naushad (minority).
