Left defers decision on Lok Sabha Speaker's post

Left parties today deferred till May 26 a decision on Cong offer to veteran CPI (M) leader Somnath Chaterjee to become the Speaker.

Left parties on Sunday deferred till May 26 a decision on the Congress offer to veteran CPI (M) leader Somnath Chaterjee to become Lok Sabha Speaker.

The decision to defer the issue was taken at the meeting of top leaders of Left parties including CPI and RSP, CPI (M) General Secretary Harkishen Singh Surjeet told reporters after the meeting.
