Close on the heels of CPI-M's terse warning to the government on the nuclear issue, CPI on Saturday said the level of cooperation with the Congress-led coalition will "go down from now on" and it was like a "merit based support".
CPI National Secretary D Raja told PTI that strains on the Indo-US nuclear deal were also going to affect coordination between the government and the Left. He said this would equally affect the fate of a number of bills in Parliament.
He noted that the UPA-Left Coordination Committee has not met for long and is unlikely to meet in the near future.
