A tripartite meeting was held at the office of additional labour commissioner Chandra Mani Lal Maurya to resolve the dispute between the employees and the management over the mode of payment of Rs 1,200 to each employee. The Mazdoor Union was represented by its president JP Pandey and six other members of the union. The management was represented by GM KP Tripathi and Welfare Officer Narottam Shukla.

In the meeting, it was decided that the distribution of Rs 1,200 to each employee would be monitored by two labour inspectors. The amount would be distributed from the LML extension counter of the Indian Overseas Bank, Panki. It may be pointed out that as per the agreement between the management and the employees on May 6 , it was decided that each employee would get a payment of Rs 1,200 as temporary relief in lieu of pending payment.

The distribution of payment was made on May 9, 10 and 11. But the LML Limited Mazdoor Union claimed that the majority of the employees did not receive their payment in protest against the mode of payment.

However, the LML management once again issued a notice on Wednesday, inviting the employees to receive their payment on May 29 and 30 from the Indian Overseas Bank, Panki. In order to resolve the imbroglio over the mode of payment, a tripartite meeting was convened by the additional labour commissioner.

Labour leader JP Pandey said, “ About 3,000 employees are to receive their payment. It has been decided by the additional labour commissioner that the entire process will be monitored by two inspectors of the labour office.”

However, representatives of the management were not able to give any satisfactory reply on the issue of ending the lockout and starting production. After being reprimanded by the additional labour commissioner, the LML representatives pointed out that about two months would be required by the management to enter into partnership with an automobile company.

Talking to Hindustan Times, additional labour Commissioner CML Maurya said, “ To dispel the apprehension of employees, two inspectors of the labour office will monitor the proceedings on May 29 and 30.”

On the issue of ending the lockout, Maurya stated that the management’s representatives had solicited some time to end the lockout.
